Mohamed Akbi received the Diploma degree in physics and electronics from the University of Sciences and Technology, Algiers, Algeria, in 1980, and the M.S. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in physics and electrical engineering from Blaise Pascal University, Clermont-Ferrand, France, in 1989 and 1993, respectively.
Mohamed Akbi is currently Professor of Physics at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Boumerdes (UMBB), Algeria. Dr. Akbi was Guest Scientist with the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, Berlin, Germany, where he was involved in the research on deuterium trapping in divertor tiles of the tokamak ASDEX-UPGRADE.
Moreover, he has implemented a method for measuring the photo-electron work function of contact materials for industrial use, during his stay at the Electric Arc and Thermal Plasmas Laboratory (LAEPT), in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
Further, Prof. Akbi has authored several books in Electrostatics, Electrokinetics and Electromagnetism in arabic and french (three of them have been edited recently by Ellipses Edition Marketing, Paris, France).
